About

CABINET

The Cabinet (Naikaku) is the executive branch of the Japanese government, responsible for overseeing the daily affairs of the people and state. Headed by the Prime Minister and the most highly ranking ministers of select departments, the Cabinet must actively respond to two of the most distinctive crises in 21st century Japan, as well as restabilize the nation. While this small group of officials works at a brisk pace to reach resolutions, each member exercises their own jurisdiction to pursue their best interests for the country. However, it is necessary for all members to effectively collaborate in order to lead the nation down one path: recovery. The Cabinet’s responses to these disasters will determine the social, political, and economic state of Japan for years to come - will you ensure its success, or blindly lead the nation to further turmoil?

Director

Beatrice Duchastel de Montrouge

Director

Beatrice Duchastel de Montrouge is so excited to be staffing Seattle Model United Nations in its inaugural year! As a senior at Inglemoor High School, Beatrice splits her time between her several roles, which vary from being Senior Drum Major in the Inglemoor Viking Marching Band to full IB diploma candidate to Saturday morning volunteer at the Museum of Pop Culture. Despite being so busy, Beatrice still has plenty of time to stress about college and watch a lot of Netflix! She can not wait to meet all of the exceptionally bright delegates in Cabinet and wishes everybody has a great time at SeattleMUN 2019!

Fiona Wang

Chair

Fiona Wang

Chair

Fiona Wang is a sophomore at the Cambridge Program at Juanita High School, and is thrilled to embark on her third staffing experience. Since her first conference, PACMUN 2017, she has attended two conferences as a delegate and fallen in love with the excitement that comes from MUN debate. When not at a MUN conference, you can find Fiona curled up with a good book, watching anime, practicing her violin, competing in swim meets, or cramming in last-minute studying for school and competitions with some classical music and milk tea. She can’t wait to meet all the delegates at SeattleMUN 2019!

Sanya Gupta

Assistant Director

Sanya Gupta

Assistant Director

Sanya Gupta is a sophomore at Interlake High School in the IB program. After being peer pressured into MUN, her first conference was EDUMUN 2017 while her first competitive conference was PACMUN 2017. As a freshman, she immediately fell in love with the diplomacy and organization behind MUN and decided to stick with it. She has attended over 15 conferences in the past two years as either a secretariat member, staff member, or delegate. Aside from stressing out about MUN and schoolwork, Sanya can be found perfecting something for Science Olympiad, volunteering for countless hours, organizing activism events, or even trying to learn new languages. Nevertheless, she is beyond excited for this conference's inaugural year and knows you will all have a great time at SeattleMUN 2019!
